Hey guys! Today I have a guest post and tutorial from Nicole of Radiant Cosmetics. Radiant Cosmetics has quickly become one of my favorite companies - their mission is to help garner awareness for human trafficking by raising funds through cosmetics, to provide resources for those on the forefront of change as well as victims of trafficking. Love!! So, anyways, while I'm still in Maui we're lucky enough to have Nicole tell us how to do some fabulous summer makeup!
Something about summer makes me want to want to go crazy with color in my
makeup. There seems to be so many ‘rules’ these days about what you should and
shouldn't wear to survive the summer heat. In all honesty, my makeup doesn’t
change drastically despite the lovely Texas heat we endure down here.
For summer months, I tend to focus more on my eyes. Along with most women,
wearing less face makeup is always a priority. I typically reach for a lip gloss as
opposed to a lipstick in the summer. Most importantly, one step you can’t skip in the
summer is priming! I use a pea size foundation primer, even when wearing minimal
foundation and eye primer is key for creating any look. It prevents creasing and
helps keep your eye shadow looking fresh.
This is one of my summer “go to” looks, as it’s versatile. It can be worn with any
combination of different colored eyeliners. This particular look features one of
my favorite color combinations: gold and teal, which I particularly love in the
summer as it reminds me of somewhere tropical, and who doesn’t want to imagine
themselves lounging on an island somewhere?
Use this look as a template; sometimes all it takes is switching up your eyeliner to
create a whole new look. Sometimes I’ll rock the teal liner on top and the bronze
on the bottom, or swap it for a purple or green liner. The possibilities really are
endless. The key is having fun and using color!
Complete the look with light foundation; a mineral foundation can be quick and easy
for the summer. Dust your cheekbones with bronzer and my current favorite, coral
blush, to really make your skin glow. Finish with a pretty lip gloss, a slight pop of
pink fits the beachy theme of this look.
