This morning Leila said she wanted to write her letter to Santa. She colored him a picture, while dictating her letter to me. I asked her what she's done to be a good girl this year, and she answered honestly.
Here's her letter:
Dear Santa,
I have been a very good girl this year! I help my mommy in the kitchen and my daddy in the backyard. I use money from my piggy bank to donate to the animals* and give people in Africa clean water**, and I give toys and clothes to children who need them.
This year I would like:
*a baby stroller
*a brown baby
*a pink kitchen
*a football hat like Papa's (49ers)
*cozy boots like Mama's
*dress-up clothes
*purple sparkly shoes and kitty shoes (Pumas)
Please make sure to bring gifts to all of the good children in the world. I will leave some cookies and milk out for you and carrots for your reindeer.
Love, Leila
PS - Please tell Baby Santa*** I said hello
PPS - my puppies love treats!
*At one of our coffee shops they used to have a donation jar out for elephants and EVERY time we'd go, Leila would ask to get money out of her piggy bank to donate to the elephants! So proud of her.
**After explaining as best as I could to my 2.5 year old she was shocked that people didn't have clean water and she wanted to take our big Alhambra jug to Africa. I told her that we couldn't do that, but we could send them money, and she promptly found her little wallet and handed me what was inside. {heart melter}
***More on "Baby Santa" later!

Aw, it's so sweet that she wants to donate to the elephants and water for Africa. She's got a big heart for such a little girl. ;)
Love it! So caring and sweet! I sure hope Santa brings her everything she wants! ;)
Awwe Heather, this post brought tears to my eyes :) I havent even tried to explain charity to Greyson yet as I didn't think that he would understand. Reading this totally has me inspired to start explaining to him.
THANK YOU!
Kelly- we started teaching Leila the idea of "donating" and "charity" this summer. We just had her help us go through her toy box, and give toys she didn't play with so much to kids less fortunate than her. She (obviously) doesn't fully understand the concept, but it's never too early to start teaching them about it!
Thanks for inspiring me to teach L about charity!! And...KITTY SHOES! I love it!
She just gets cuter and cuter!!! Her heart!!! Kitty shoes? Hilarious. And fashionable.
She is the cutest thing ever!
