Pre-Preschool nerves

Tomorrow my little peanut starts preschool. We've been pumping her up and talking about it for months now, reading preschool-related books (her favorite is "Llama Llama Misses Mama") and explaining how mommy and daddy will drop her off, she'll play with her new friends and teachers and in just a little bit we'll come back. She's seemed pretty open to the idea, even though she's never been left with anyone besides family. Tonight, when we were reading she said she wanted to read to me. It went a little something like this.

(Leila grabbed a Curious George book)

"George is going to preschool. George doesn't want his yellow daddy to go. Please don't go daddy, stay at preschool with me. I'll cry and cry. Please don't leave me."

My heart promptly broke. I gave her a reassuring pep talk that George's daddy will come back after George has lots of fun with his new friends and teachers.

Like I said, tomorrow is the big day. Tony took the day off of work to keep the crying (on my behalf and Leila's) to a minimum. I'll make sure to let you all know how things go. Wish us luck!

  2. My dear sweet girl, I know it will be a rough start at preschool, probably harder for you than Leila. You and Tony have given her an amazing foundation of LOVE !! She know how much she is loved by you both and all of us and that is HUGE! I love it when we can ask her "what does her heart say" and she replies " Mommy and Daddy". that speaks volumes. She will have so much fun in time and you are so in entitled to have
a little bit of Mommy time. You are an amazing mom and I am so incredibly proud of you. Leila and baby Dot are so blessed to have you as their Mommy. I'm so blessed to be yours and thank God every day for allowing me to be you and Ryan's mom. I love you sweetheart! Mom xoxoxoxoxox......

  3. She'll do great! It won't take long at all for her to settle in! And PS... Camden calls her "baby Leila" whenever she talks about her.
