Happy (late) Fourth of July!! Ours was nice and low-key this year. We spent the beginning half of the day not doing too much. I was making food to bring to a BBQ, and then Tony and Leila went mini golfing, while I got a pedicure. We went to a BBQ after Leila's nap at a good friend's house, and did a few little fireworks. I didn't get any pictures of Leila in her cute, patriotic dress (bad mommy!) but did get pictures of the food I made...
The Pioneer Woman's pasta salad, with grilled chicken substituted for cherry tomatoes:
and
Bakerella's cake pops:
Both were a big hit, considering there were no leftovers, but especially the cake pops which all got eaten before dinner!
I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July and a very special thanks to the men and women fighting to protect this great country of ours!
Food shots - my favorite! Have you tried the Pioneer Woman's smashed potatoes? That's the only recipe I've tried and they are YUM! One of these days, I need to attempt cake pops. They look so fun!
ReplyDeleteomgggg!!! love those pops!! can i be you, for just like a day? lol.
