Now Leila is 2, and she adooooooores her Ramon. She calls him "Boo-Boo", "my chowa" and "my boy." All the love that Leila shows Ramon, he shows back. Sometimes, however Leila shows her love a little less than gently. This afternoon Leila decided to play with some of her new birthday toys. She played with her doctor kit and checked Ramon's heart, gave him shots, and looked in his ears. She also brushed his fur for about twenty un-interrupted minutes. She set up a tea party and Ramon sat down with his tea in front of him. He is truly the best dog I could imagine for our family. For all of the love and patience he showed Leila today, and everyday, Ramon is eating a peanut butter frosty paw. He's such a good boy!

Have to brag about my pooch...
Before Leila came into the world Ramon was our #1. We took him everywhere with us (including weekends away) made time for the dog park at least five days a week, and generally treated him like our baby. Pre-Leila Ramon was sooooo clingy, and so (ahem) wild that our vet and my parents were concerned that he might not be the best dog to have around a newborn. Well, Leila came and (not that Ramon became "just a dog") but he definitely shifted down a notch in the totem pole. With the new arrival, however, Ramon became a bit of a new dog. When Leila was a newborn he'd follow us into her room for every changing, and wake up with me in the middle of the night (often several times), walk down the hall to Leila's room and sit at my feet while I nursed her.
